Description

This document is a combination factbook and directory about the Peace Corps in 1968. This document begins with an explanation of what the Peace Corps is, what is expected of volunteers, and what the application and training processes look like. The document then goes on to a directory covering the possible jobs, programs, and duties a volunteer may encounter in the four regions - Africa, Latin America, North Africa/Near East/South Asia, and East Asia/Pacific - of Peace Corps services. These listings, subject to change, were accurate up through the summer of 1969. After this directory of programs, there is information that a potential volunteer may need to know about regarding their daily life and legal requirements while serving in the Peace Corps. Subjects such as the draft, money, marriage, pregnancy, loans and family emergencies are covered.
