Description

This 1967 document is a collection of short articles about the Peace Corps, its volunteers, and its impact globally and at home. They were collected and reprinted by the Peace Corps. Sources vary from other, previous Peace Corps publications, nationally syndicated magazines and newspapers, and some university presses.

A majority of the articles come from former directors or members of the Peace Corps detailing personal experiences or opinions. Other articles are the positive or negative opinions of non-affiliated individuals or groups to the Peace Corps' founding, operations, or effects on communities and volunteers. The articles reflect opinions and language used in the 1960s by United States citizens to describe other nations, the people of those nations, and political ideologies during the early Cold War.
