Abstract
In these two short stories, a college student, Emilee Dalton, recalls her first week of junior year at Jackson High, showing her journey from careless youth to remorseful woman. In the first story, Emilee is jealous of a musical, athletic classmate, Susan Clay, who dates Emilee's former boyfriend, Terrence Wyatt. When Emilee's best friend Rebecca tells her about photos Susan posted on Facebook to document the relationship, Emilee is angry enough to take revenge. The girls humiliate Susan and spread rumors about her, so Principal Williams gives them in-school suspension. Still, Susan commits suicide. In the second story, the three students discover Susan has returned to haunt Jackson High. Though Principal Williams is skeptical, he allows Terrence to use his Ouija board to help the students confirm her presence and communicate with her. Emilee regrets her actions, but she still thinks of Susan and her role in her suicide.
