Description
Minstrel band in blackface and female performers on stage with other individuals, two of whom are in native inspired attire. Banner across stage says "Free Show Tonight" and bass drum has an advertisement for "Stells Big Medicine Co.". Location unknown, date unknown. Medicine Shows, popular between 1850 and 1930 in the United States, were traveling groups selling miracle cures, elixirs and specially formulated tonics. Performers and entertainers kept the audience engaged while the “doctor” sold his product.
