Handwritten inscriptions (clockwise from top left): Opr (operator); Opr (operator); E. Mgr (Evening Manager); Clerk; Lineman; CG (presumably personal initials); QN (presumably personal initials); Messenger. Second inscription along the bottom: “QN holds the honor of being the fastest messenger in (P)- W.U. or Postal in 1909”
