Description
Cotton bales, belonging to the Union Compress & Warehouse Company, stacked along Exchange Street, in Memphis, Tennessee. During the 1937 Mississippi River flood many warehouses along the river front were forced to move their products elsewhere to protect them from the rising flood water.
