Description

Requisition receipt issued during the Civil War to Hamilton Parks by Lieutenant J.S. Cotter, Commissary of Subsistence, at Trenton, Tennessee, on January 22, 1863, for 1155 pounds of pork valued at $6.00 per 100 pounds. The document states: "Which will be paid for the United States at the end of the present insurrection, if the owner of the same shall satisfactorily prove his loyalty to the United States of America."
