"Alex M. Jones is elected Highway Commissioner for the 11th road district of said County Comprised of the 11th Civil district of said County - for three years from the going into effect of the late state law - and will act as Clerk and Treasurer of said road district."

This collection consists of correspondence, business documents, and personal papers and belongings owned by Alexander M. Jones, a Confederate soldier, Sarah “Sallie” J. Jones, and their extended families. The Joneses and their extended families lived in the Southern United States pre-, peri-, and post-Civil War.
