    Description

    50,000 people attended the funeral of Emmett Till, the black teenager murdered in Mississippi, in his home town of Chicago on September 7, 1955. His mother famously insisted on a public open casket funeral. She is quoted as saying "I wanted the world to see what they did to my baby."
