Description

Architectural rendering of the Freedom Center-South Shopping Plaza on E.H. Crump Boulevard at Danny Thomas Boulevard, Memphis, circa 1969. The architect was Robert Lee Hall & Associates and the illustration was by Hartz, Earls, Webber. Ground was broken in 1969 for the development by the Metro-Memphis Development Corporation created by the National Business League. The plaza’s stores were intended to be managed by African Americans.
