Description

Program of the French Fete given by the Higbee School alumnae for the memorial fountain to be erected in Overton Park, Memphis, Tennessee, at the Lyceum Theatre on April 25, 1908. The event was arranged by Harriet M. Bogardus and featured Professor William Saxby's Orchestra and the accompanist was Mrs. Elma Ney McClure. The event was organized to fund a memorial for Jenny Higbee, the late principal of the Higbee School. The memorial was constructed in 1908 near where the Brooks Museum now stands and was moved to its present site in the Formal Gardens around 1959.
