Description
Sketch of John Willard Brister, president of West Tennessee State Normal School, Memphis, Tennessee, from 1913 to 1918 and again from 1924 to his death in 1939. The Normal School became West Tennessee State Teachers College in 1925. The artist was Ron Smith and the charcoal drawing was one of seven presidential sketches published in the 1962 DeSoto yearbook.
